Cheese Drops

2 sticks butter, softened
1 – 10 oz. pkg. extra sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
2 cups all purpose flour

Pinch of salt
Pinch of cayenne (to taste – a little goes a long way)
2 cups Rice Krispies

Cream butter and cheese in a food processor using plastic blade (or mixer).

Add flour, salt, and cayenne pepper and mix well.

Remove mixture from processor and put in large mixing bowl. Fold in Rice Krispies.

Drop by small teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350º for 20 to 25 minutes for crispness. They will get crisper when they cool.

Check to be sure bottoms aren’t too brown at 15 minutes. If so, oven is a little too hot or cookie sheet is on too low a rack.

Personal Notes: In this, and in most cases, you can use one stick of butter and one stick of margarine.
